YA Move-In: What You Need to Know
Everything you need to pick up your keys, move in, and get settled.
Key pickup and assistance will be available at the YA office, located at 311 S Main Street.

Complete Your Move-In Inspection
Before You Arrive
To receive your keys or access code, your account balance must be paid in full. This applies to the entire unit balance, not individual payments.
If you have questions about how your balance is calculated under your lease, visit the Lease Basics Hub for more information.
If a balance remains at check-in, our team will assist you with next steps before keys or access codes will be provided.
Getting Your Keys
- Confirm your account balance is paid in full ahead of time, via your Resident Portal.
- Pick up your keys or access code at the YA Office.
- Move into your apartment!
If there are any issues with your account or access, our team will be available on-site to help resolve them, or you may reach our Collections team beforehand at [email protected] or 309.454.2338 ext. 128.
Important Reminders
Partially Renewed Units
Due to one or more current residents remaining in the unit, partially renewed units will not be fully inspected and serviced by YA Maintenance. Bedrooms should be cleaned by outgoing residents, but shared spaces and overall condition may vary.
Zero Balance Policy
Before you or your roommates can collect your keys and access codes, your account balance must be at $0. Unless your lease states otherwise, it is Joint and Several, meaning the full account balance is the responsibility of every resident listed. Learn more on our Lease Basics Hub.
If your account balance is not paid, you may not be able to pick up keys on June 4.
Minor Cosmetic Wear
All units may show normal wear from prior occupancy. Small cosmetic imperfections are expected and should be documented during your move-in inspection.
Move-In Inspection
Your move-in inspection is an important step in documenting the condition of your apartment at the time of move-in. Completing this ensures you are not held responsible for pre-existing conditions.
Move-In Checklist
- Test your keys or door code immediately
- Walk through your apartment before unloading
- Set up and test your internet connection
- Complete your move-in inspection within 3 days
- Note any issues or concerns
Complete Your Move-In Inspection
Your move-in inspection documents the condition of your apartment when you arrive. This record is helpful at the end of your lease to assess any damages.
Move-in inspections must be submitted within 3 days of your move-in date.
Please note: move-in inspections are not monitored for maintenance requests. For immediate concerns, submit a work order through your Resident Portal.
Complete Your move-in inspection
Internet Setup
Most apartments include a wired internet connection. Residents who prefer wireless access should plan to bring their own router.
After move-in, connect and test your service as soon as possible.
TO SET UP: Scan the internet QR code on your refrigerator.
Damage Waiver Program
The Damage Waiver Program gives you a convenient option to satisfy your lease property damage requirement without purchasing a separate liability insurance policy.
Residents are automatically enrolled in the Damage Waiver Program, which satisfies your lease requirement. You may opt out of the program at any time prior to move-in by providing documentation of active coverage that satisfies the minimum lease requirements.
New residents should review the program details and options for opting out prior to or at move-in.
Credit Building Program
The Credit Building Program gives YA residents a simple way to build credit through on-time rent payments. Eligible residents are automatically enrolled in the program, which reports positive, on-time rent payments to Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion, with no late or unpaid rent reported. Participation is optional, and residents may review program details, monthly cost, and opt-out instructions on our Credit Building Program page.

Keys will be available to pick up from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM!
For Current YA Residents, keys can be picked up starting at 8:30 AM. For NEW YA Residents, keys can be picked up starting at 10:30 AM.
If you took an Early Move In, please be sure that you have submitted your Move In Inspection.
