What's New? | Young America Realty
If you told 19-year-old me I would be a top agent at Young America Realty as a junior and senior in college, I probably would have laughed in your face. I had spent my summers for the past 3 years working easy jobs; nannying, hosting at restaurants, tutoring, any clock in – clock out job that paid me, I took. Back then I didn’t know much about real estate or sales and didn’t have a clue how I was going to sell apartments to college students. All I knew was it was the summer of Sophomore year, I was out of money, and cute boys worked at Young America (Don’t have this mindset when you’re applying to jobs, please). So, I applied. Little did I know, working for Young America would completely change my life both personally and professionally in ways I would have never expected.
From the outside, many see a small office, in an even smaller town, full of loudmouth college kids trying to make a living in between classes. While I can still remember spending a lot of time running from State Farm Business Hall across Main Street to make my shift, I will never forget the moments spent in between the chaos of it all. Days full of learning from managers who took the time to help me whenever I needed it, getting to know my coworkers who I now can’t see my life without, and being a part of a work environment that seeks to bring out the best in me always is why I cherish the two years I spent in that small office so much. Young America has taught me everything I need to know about sales and how to be successful in my career, but without the love, guidance, support, and friendship I received in these moments, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
"It’s true, this job is like no other."
There were times I felt challenged, completely out of my comfort zone, and pushed to learn and grow in skills I knew nothing about at the time. But I was never alone. No matter the circumstance, I always had a mentor, coworker, or manager there for me when I needed help, and resources to keep me on the path to success in this position. Because of Young America, I’ve gained the sales knowledge and experience I needed to become successful in my career straight out of college, and I’m grateful for that. But when I look back on my time as a leasing agent, I will never forget the moments, the lifelong relationships I made, and a family I’ll always be a part of.
Miss you always,
Mace
