If you are concerned about living in University housing due to risks associated with COVID-19 or if most of your classes are scheduled to be online, you do not have to live in University housing for the 2020-21 academic year.

 

Incoming freshmen and sophomores who would like to be released from their ISU campus housing obligation must apply for an On-Campus Release.

 

To submit your On-Campus Release Request for the Fall 2020 semester, log into your portal on the ISU Housing Website. Requests should be submitted by July 31, 2020.

  • Contract Cancellation Request: If you have submitted a housing contract and initial payment, you can cancel your housing and meal plan contracts with no penalty. Your initial payment will be credited to your student account. 
  • Exemption Request: If you have not submitted a housing contract and initial payment, but you are required to live on campus, you must submit a housing exemption request.
  • Deadline: Requests should be received by July 31, 2020 by following the steps outlined in the Housing and Dining Portal. Our team will review requests and respond via email within 5 business days. If you do not put in a request by July 31, 2020, we will expect that you plan to live in ISU housing.
