What's New? | Young America Realty
“What do you want to do when you grow up?” “What’s your five-year plan?” For many, including myself, this is a question that used to stress me out and still does today. I always thought I knew what I wanted to do in life until I realized that what I thought I would enjoy turned out to be the class I dreaded. For me, this was something that made me nervous. Not knowing the future is a concern for many, but what I have realized over the time is that it is okay to not always know your path. I have personally added and dropped majors and minors more times than I wish to admit but I have realized the experiences in college are what helped me decide what I enjoy and what I want to surround myself with.
I joined the team at Young America Realty in August 2019, and not only did I learn a lot about myself, but it has helped me figure out what I do (and don’t) want to do in my future. It's okay to step outside of your comfort zone. It’s okay to step outside of your comfort zone.
For me, my most uncomfortable situations turned out to help me discover my real passions in life. My organizations have helped me learn the simple skills in order to succeed in things that the classroom will never teach you. For someone that had their whole life figured out to someone who is struggling to figure out the classes to take, it is something that has taught me a lot about myself and the person I want to be when I get older. All of us struggle some way or another in college but the biggest thing I’ve realized so far during my first two years at ISU is that it’s perfectly fine to make mistakes, not know the answer, or know the path that you wish to take after college. My experiences outside of college are the reasons I continue to push myself to be the best I can be in all aspects of my life.
Continue to remember that you will never know for sure what your future holds but always look for the little moments in life.
Stay in the struggle,
Hannah
