Wow, nothing has made me appreciate coffee more than the exhaustion that comes from being a college student. 5 a.m.? Coffee time. 2 p.m.? Time for an afternoon pick-me-up. 9 p.m.? Perfect time for a cup of joe to get you through studying. But sometimes, the average cup of coffee and creamer just doesn’t cut it. That’s where I come in. As a self-deemed coffee connoisseur, I have scoped out all of the coffee shops in Blono and I am here to give you the inside scoop.

I will start with my absolute favorite- Coffee Hound:CH3. This is not to be mistaken with the Coffee Hound in uptown Normal. While each Coffee Hound location is a great option, this one takes the cake. Their flavors are curated in house, and they have the comfiest environment to sit and relax. It is a true hidden gem in our community. My order: An iced oat milk latte with rosemary and sea salt caramel.

Bloom’s Coffee. New to Bloomington, with beans roasted in Portland, OR, this little coffee pop-up is serving brews that are out of this world! From it’s neon-themed cups to clever drink mixes, there is something for everyone here. The shop is a small drive-thru-only coffee provider, so it is perfect for an afternoon treat before your night class. They say the best things come in small packages, and Bloom’s is a perfect example of that expression. My order: A white caramel mocha with oat milk.

Fusion Brew. Not only is it super close to campus, but they also have a wide variety of milks, flavors, and boba tea. The atmosphere is perfect for studying and the interior just got a super cute update! Don’t forget to bring your stamp card in as well to rack up points for a free drink. The atmosphere of Fusion Brew makes it the ideal safe haven from the hussle and bussle of campus. My order: A matcha latte, or a lychee milk tea.
