Our Fav. Local Restaurants for Date Night
With Valentine’s Day falling on a Tuesday this year, we are sure everyone is looking for somewhere nearby campus to spend a special night, with their special someone! Although Bloomington may not be your destination of choice for a romantic evening, there are a lot of hidden gem restaurants that many may not know about!
Anju Above
If you and your date have trouble settling on a place to eat because you both are always craving different things, Anju is the perfect place for your Valentine’s Day date. This chic, upbeat restaurant has everything from pizza, sushi, wings, and many more farm fresh options. Anju prides themselves on offering local farm to table foods, so you know everything you are eating is as fresh as it gets. They normally do not allow reservations for two, but luckily for you, Valentine’s Day is an exception!
Epiphany Farms
If you are looking for a rustic-chic, romantic meal already planned out for you on Valentine’s Day, make a reservation at Epiphany Farms, which is located right under Anju Above in downtown Bloomington. Valentine’s Day is a special day at Epiphany Farms, where the Chef has organized their own special menu, offering many amazing dishes that are all internationally influenced. You will find that every meal also has a special wine pairing to go along with the delicious meal.
Kobe
Kobe is not only good for an enjoyable meal for two, but it is also a great place to go if you are having a couple’s night or single's night out this Valentine’s Day. Bring your whole group to enjoy the unique experience of this Japanese steakhouse at their communal teppanyaki tables & a sushi bar. Enjoy the music and entertainment of your chef as they prepare your meal right at your table! If you are one of many sushi lovers, may I suggest the Valentine Roll?
Baxters
Is your date a wine lover? A steak lover? This romantic dimly lit atmosphere is a great way to set the mood with a glass of wine and great conversation. Baxter’s may be a bit pricey for some, but there’s no expense too high on Valentine’s Day, right?
Medici
If you are looking for a quiet, romantic dinner within walking distance of campus, Medici’s is the perfect place to spend your evening with your special someone. Medici’s offers a wide variety of different entrees, appetizers, and over 30 draft beers. Medici’s is known for their amazing stone-cooked pizzas and delicious desserts. The bi-level restaurant has the perfect ambiance for a relaxing dinner for two.
Ovation
Your date wants dinner and a movie this Valentine’s Day? Let us guess, she really wants to be taken to see Fifty Shades of Grey? Don’t worry about rushing to get the check in order to make your movie time. You can dine in at Ovation while enjoying your movie of choice this evening. Ovation is a movie theater that offers a full restaurant and bar menu with a large variety of great choices! Book your seats online ahead of time to pick your ideal place to enjoy your night in comfort.
