Maintenance Process

One thing I love about Young America is their maintenance. When we need something to be fixed or have problems with common wear and tear it's so easy to log onto our portal and submit a maintenance request. I have never had a problem that was not taken care of quickly and effectively. But when putting in a maintenance request or calling in for emergency maintenance it is important to remember that you may not be the only one with issues needing service. Maintenance issues are taken care of by severity of the issue. For instance, in the dead of winter when someone's heat goes out, their heat is getting fixed before your garbage disposal. Just yesterday, the lock on my security door was broken so I called emergency maintenance to have a look at it and within a couple of hours they had the lock and key guys out here to fix it.  Emergency maintenance does not cost you anything, unless it was your damage that caused the problem.

If you do have emergency maintenance, contact our 24/7 call center at 309-823-0179, so they dispatch someone right away.  Emergency maintenance issues are those that relate to safety of the residents, or those that may cause damage to the building.  Below is an incomplete list that may help clarify:

  • No electrical power
  • No heat
  • No water
  • Water coming through the ceiling
  • Apartment entry door will not lock securely


So next time you need maintenance, keep in mind they are doing their best to satisfy all of those who live with Young America...and that's a lot of people!
