Young America Realty is a full service, third party management company that is locally owned and operated exclusively in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois. Founded in 1975 by broker Ralph Endress, the company has grown steadily over time and has assembled a first rate management team whose services include apartment showings, lease signings, current and delinquent rent collections, 24-hour maintenance, property rehabilitation and remodeling, and new property development. Since our inception, Young America Realty has aggressively pursued growth strictly in the Bloomington-Normal area. We are located close to campus, on Main Street directly across from the new Student Fitness and Kinesiology Recreation Building.
The key to third party management lies in the agency relationship with the property owners. Each member of the Young America staff is keenly aware that our company is in a results-based business of obtaining the best return-on-investment for each of our owners. This includes boosting the income through smart marketing and advertising as well as calculated capital investments. Our goal is to obtain the best return for our owners both today and years down the road.
We believe in treating our residents as first-class citizens, and we constantly look for ways to improve our service. We invest considerable resources gathering data through surveys and interviews in order to learn what services and amenities will best meet the needs and desires of our current and perspective ISU residents. This feedback is integral to our business model and directs many of our capital investments.
The “Best of Bloomington-Normal” guide, prepared annually by the Daily Vidette, (ISU’s campus newspaper) offers further evidence of our commitment to our residents. We were awarded “Best in Apartment Customer Service” for both 2008-2009 and 2009-2010, the most recent award year. Contributing to this award were not only our professional and student office staff, but also the diligent efforts of our 24/7 maintenance department. Students have access to emergency maintenance at all times through a professional call center. Emergency calls are addressed immediately, and non-emergency maintenance requests are typically resolved within 24 hours. Each maintenance professional is responsible for specific properties, so he can become familiar with both the residents and the nuances of the buildings. This award has brought both pride and gratitude to our staff, and has encouraged us to continue our efforts in customer service excellence.
In addition to winning the "Best in Apartment Customer Service" award 2 years in a row, we also won the 2009-2010 "Best Place to Live" for our new Willow Trails apartments. This is a testament to our acute understanding of how ISU students seek value when looking for their next great housing situation.
The management portfolio of Young America has developed into the largest on campus over the past several decades, and includes Class A, B, and C properties. We recognize the difference in these classes and the differences in the needs of the students they attract, and we have tailored our services accordingly. The Young America team is made up of managers that attended ISU and current ISU students, which means we have an adept and extensive understanding of our market.
